Perfection In Doing |
Samuel "Sam"
Wyatt |
|
Be ye perfect,
even as your
Father which is
in heaven is
perfect.
(Matthew
5:48) I am the Almighty God;
walk before me,
and be thou
perfect. (Genesis
17:1)
Ye shall be holy unto me: for I the Lord am holy, and have severed you
from other
people, that ye
should he mine.
(Leviticus
20:26)
Ye
are bought with
a price:
therefore
glorify God in
your body, and
in your spirit,
which are God's.
(I
Corinthians 6:20)
Ye
are complete in
him... (Colossians
2:10)
…Who gave
himself for us,
that he might
redeem us from
all iniquity.
(Titus
2:14)
Be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and
blameless. (II
Peter 3:14)
Whoso
looketh into the
perfect law of
liberty, and
continueth
therein, he
being not a
forgetful
hearer, but a
doer of the
work, this man
shall be blessed
in his deed.
(James
1:25)

It is definitely
true that no man
is perfect.
Then why
is it that the
Bible tells us
to be perfect?
It has
told us that our
righteousness is
as "filthy rags"
before God.
It
further let us
know that all
have sinned and
therefore not
holy.
So how
can we obey this
command?
The
answer is as
simple as that
of the age old
question, "Which
came first: the
chicken or the
egg?" In John
chapter one, the
Bible reveals to
us that God came
down from glory,
took upon
himself a body
of flesh and
lived among men.
The life
in which He
lived He lived
to show us what
perfection is. I
still hear His
voice via the
Scriptures
ringing through
the ages:
"I
must be about my
Father's
business; I came
that you might
have life; not
to destroy men's
lives; but to
seek and to save
that which is
lost; I came
that you might
have peace."
Luke
tells us in
Acts 10:38
that,
"He went about
doing good."
The
greatest
mysteries of the
world sometimes
have such a
simple answer.
When it
comes to
"perfection" or
the "chicken and
the egg" the
answer is the
same, one single
worded powerful
answer, God.
God came
first to make
the chicken to
make the egg,
and God was the
first man to
become perfect
to make other
men perfect.
When
Jesus lived on
this earth, He
did not sit
around waiting
on someone else
to do what
should be done,
He did it.
He did
not make an
excuse that He
was the greatest
so I must be
served, He
served.
He did
not forget what
the Father told
Him to do, He
was a doer.
In all
your getting,
get
understanding.
Understand
that there is
"Perfection In
Doing" the will
of God.
God's
will is that we
obey the gospel
of His dear Son
and put Him on
in baptism.
Once we
get in Jesus we
then become
perfect, and
remain if we
don't forget to
maintain good
works.
The
Great God of
Heaven has given
us a chance at
perfection.
What will you do?
